Rolls dating back to the 1840s will appear here, in no particular sequence. Each Roll will remain for an indefinite period with other Rolls being added from time to time.
There is a computerised Index of more than 1,000 pages of pupils and teaching staff, with some entries from the 18th century. It is a long way from being comprehensive. The information on each entry varies between surname-only up to quite lengthy compilations of School and family history. The Rolls reflect this variety with some being nothing more than a basic list of surnames. In the 19th and early 20th centuries it was quite common for a boy to enter the School for two or three terms and if he was not in the School on a date when the Roll was drawn up he will be missing from the Rolls.
Information on any boy is requested. Full names, ages, dates of birth, parents’ names, address, names of previous and later generations who may have been at the School; any further education; births, marriages, deaths, occupations, military service; anything at all which will help to positively identify the boys.
